What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau is a new injectable treatment that can smooth and rejuvenate dynamic lines and wrinkles. A form of neurotoxin, it can relax the muscles of the face to prevent movements that cause creases or lines to form in the skin when expressing. It can also relax furrows that cause a tired or worn-out appearance, even when you feel energetic or rested. Jeuveau is one of the newest alternatives to Botox and is an excellent option for aging signs like crow’s feet, frown lines, or brow lines. Jeuveau can also be combined with other aesthetic options like dermal fillers for more complete facial rejuvenation.

Who is a Candidate for Jeuveau?

Jeuveau is a great option for patients looking to reverse signs of aging and refresh their look. Whether you have tried Botox in the past or not, you can benefit from Jeuveau as a way to smooth lines and wrinkles that cause you to look older than you feel. If you have certain bleeding disorders or other medical conditions, you may not be a good candidate. The Treatment

Our licensed clinician will begin your consultation by discussing your goals and expectations with Jeuveau and help you develop an appropriate treatment plan. Once your skin has been cleansed and prepared, the product will be placed in the muscles of the face with a very fine needle. A topical numbing cream can be supplied if needed. Overall, treatment can take as little as 15 minutes.

Recovery

You can return to your regular daily schedule after your Jeuveau session, although we recommend following some basic aftercare steps for best results. This includes avoiding alcohol and strenuous activity for 24 hours after treatment. You should also avoid laying down or bending over for at least four hours. Finally, we recommend avoiding hot environments like saunas or hot tubs, which can exacerbate swelling.

You may have minor swelling and redness at the injection sites – this tends to subside within a few hours. In order to prevent bruising, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications like NSAIDs for two weeks before and after treatment. You can apply makeup after your treatment, although we recommend being gentle and avoiding massaging or rubbing the area.

Results are typically seen within 1-2 weeks, although you may see minor improvement within a few days. If, after two weeks, you don’t see the degree of improvement you were hoping for, you may return for additional units. Jeuveau typically lasts for 3-6 months, at which point you may return for a touch-up appointment.
