Micronutrient and Microbiome Testing

Micronutrients consist of vitamins, minerals, co-factors, amino acids, and antioxidants which are vital to the proper functioning of your body including energy production, blood clotting, immune function, and more. Unfortunately, our food supply, and/or our diets are not always sufficient in micronutrients, which can lead to deficiencies. Further, problems in digestion and absorption can limit our ability to use the nutrients we do get in the diet. The most common nutrient deficiencies include iron, calcium, and vitamins D, B12, and A. Common symptoms of a vitamin deficiency may include:

  • Brittle hair and nails
  • Fatigue
  • Slow healing
  • Mouth ulcers or cracks in the corners of the mouth
  • Chronic diseases
  • Brain fog
  • Bleeding gums
  • Poor night vision
  • Dandruff
  • Hair loss
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • And more

In order to ensure that your body has an adequate amount of these different vitamins and minerals for optimal health, we offer micronutrient and microbiome testing.

WHAT IS MICRONUTRIENT TESTING?

At VitaLab, we offer micronutrient testing in order to determine which vitamins you are deficient in. A micronutrient blood test measures how your body is functioning at a cellular level. We can assess a large array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants, which are all vital to your health.

MICROBIOME TESTING

Microbiome testing involves collecting a stool sample in the privacy of your home and mailing it directly to the lab. Upon completion, the lab report details the beneficial and harmful species living in your gut. Results can be used to guide changes in your diet and the formulation of custom probiotic supplementation.
