Who is a Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are an optimal choice for patients who want to reverse signs of aging or enhance facial features without surgery or downtime. If you’re beginning to see aging signs like mild to moderate lines or folds, dermal fillers are one of the best ways to soften their appearance. Additionally, if you have naturally thin lips or unbalanced facial contours, dermal fillers can help. You may not be a good candidate for dermal fillers if you have certain allergies or bleeding disorders. The Treatment

To begin your treatment, you will discuss your cosmetic goals and expectations with our team. We will help you explore all possible treatment options and create an appropriate anti-aging regimen to maximize your results. Once you’ve selected the right dermal filler for your needs, your injection site will be cleansed, and the product will be placed in the skin with a very fine needle. Most patients are able to tolerate any discomfort during this process, but we can supply a topical numbing cream if you’re concerned about pain. You’ll see instant results and treatment takes about 15 minutes. Afterward, you can return to your regular daily activities.

Recovery

For best results with your fillers, we recommend following some basic aftercare steps. Firstly, avoid strenuous activity and exercise for the first 24 hours. Secondly, avoid rubbing or massaging the area. Finally, avoid blood-thinning medications like NSAIDs or aspirin since these can increase bruising. It’s normal to have some minor redness and swelling at your injection sites, as well as some tenderness if you received lip fillers. You may gently apply a cold pack to ease any swelling – only apply it for 15 minutes at a time.  We also recommend using Arnica Montana 30c pellets or cream immediately after treatment to minimize bruising.

Although you will see instant results with your fillers, it’s best to allow two weeks for your results to fully settle in. Each filler lasts for a different amount of time, but generally will produce results for 6-12 months. Our licensed clinician will give you the best estimate of when you can return for a touch-up appointment to maintain your results.
