What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses many tiny needles to prick the skin and stimulate new collagen production. By intentionally injuring the skin, the body’s natural healing response is triggered, and cells are prompted to regenerate. Part of this regeneration is that burst of collagen and elastin, two proteins that keep your skin firm, glowing, and healthy. This newly emerging procedure is affordable and very effective, with a wide range of benefits for your skin.
Microneedling can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or exosome therapy to supercharge the results. These add-on therapies take advantage of the micro-injuries from the needling to deliver these stem-cell promoting therapies directly into the deeper layers of the skin where they signal the surrounding cells to begin regeneration.
Microneedling has many health benefits, including the benefit of a quick, minimally invasive procedure with a short recovery time. These are some of the wonderful effects you have to look forward to following your microneedling procedure:
Microneedling can reduce the prominence of scars caused by acne, surgery, or trauma. Unfortunately, keloid scarring is one type that this procedure cannot treat. Over time, scars will become less visible and your skin will regain a smooth, youthful appearance.
By stimulating the body to make new skin cells, fine lines and wrinkles become less apparent. One of the main places microneedling is used is the face, specifically the corners of the eyes, forehead, and cheeks, but this procedure can also improve the appearance of the neck, abdomen, or other areas you may feel insecure about.
Too much sun can cause hyperpigmentation or the appearance of blotchy skin. Microneedling can renew the skin and help even its tone.
Microneedling the area around the enlarged pore promotes collagen development in the skin around the pore, making the pore shrink into the newly plumped skin.
After your microneedling treatment, you may notice that skin creams and serums absorb more easily into the skin. Once the microneedles have penetrated the skin, products are able to sink deeper into the skin, providing even more effective skin care.
Microneedling benefits are additive. We recommend a series of 3 treatments done 6-8 weeks apart. This can be repeated as needed to maintain the youthful benefits over time.
